Newsprinters
has announced a number of changes within the leadership team, including the departure of Steve Whitehead (pictured above).

Commenting on his departure, Darren Barker, Newsprinters managing director, said: "I am immensely grateful for Steve’s commitment to the business since 2007 and particularly over the last three years when he has led our print and engineering functions through significant change.

“His strong leadership and experience across print and engineering has ensured our print sites are widely regarded across the industry and are well positioned to take maximum advantage of Newsprinters standalone status."

Alan Brett and Ross McCombe have been promoted to Southern (Broxbourne) and  Northern (Knowsley and Eurocentral) manufacturing directors respectively.

Reporting directly to Darren Barker they will become fully responsible for the service delivery and profitability of each site and will be more involved in the strategic direction of the business whilst ensuring continued consistent service levels to all Newsprinters’ clients.

Richard Johnstone will take up the new role of business improvement director.

“This is a key position in transforming the Newsprinters operating model and will be accountable for management of our strategic projects, cost optimisation and process re-engineering, new revenue development and implementation and transformation of the future newspaper supply chain,” the company told PJ.

After a competitive selection process Mark Gilhespie has now been appointed as Logistics Director.

Tracey Hart remains commercial director, but with an expanded remit that will initially cover full responsibility for revenue generation, improving profit margins and new business delivery. Tracey and her team will play a vital role in controlling costs, building revenue and the profitability of Newsprinters.
