Celtic Media Print Limited and Spotlight Sports Group, publisher of the Racing Post, have confirmed the signing of a new extended print contract for the Irish edition of the market-leading title.

The Racing Post and its Betting Shop Display edition for bookmakers have been printed on a seven nights per week basis at the Navan plant since early 2016. The contract also includes the printing of the Racing Post Weekender and the weekly Racing and Football Outlook.

The new contract will see the titles printed in Navan for up until December 2025.

“We are delighted that the quality of service provided by our print team in Navan over the past five years has resulted in the renewal of this important contract for a further significant number of years,” said Frank Mulrennan, chief executive, Celtic Media Print.

“The Racing Post is a bible for the racing industry and we are proud to be printing its Irish edition and related publications in the heart of the Irish bloodstock industry, in County Meath.”

Anthony Ive, print operations manager at Spotlight Sports Group, added: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Celtic Media Print. In what has been a challenging year for the industry, the extension of this contract highlights our commitment to the print versions of the Racing Post products.

“We would like to thank Mark Phillips and his print team in Navan for their excellent work over the past 5 years and look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come.”

Celtic Media Print, part of Celtic Media Group, prints its own range of local newspaper titles on the German KBA-built press at Mullaghboy, Navan.

Other long-standing print clients include Dublin People Group; Nenagh Guardian and Tuam Herald.

The plant has been the recipient of numerous print awards over the years and offers a “one stop shop” service to local publishers including pre-press, graphic design and digital consultancy.
